Several AZ sports betting sites went on record saying that Arizona was their biggest liability. But that all changed once the Wildcats lost to the Houston Cougars on Thursday night.
This was the first year Arizona residents could bet on March Madness. And while the Wildcat’s run has come to an end, there is growing excitement for what’s to come.

Because there weren’t many expectations for this group before the season started, the Arizona Wildcats became a considerable responsibility for AZ sportsbooks. Arizona did not make the Top 25 before the period.
However, the Wildcats were among the top five favorites to win the Pac-12 championship at most & nbsp, an online sportsbook in Arizona. Sports enthusiasts betting on the Wildcats perhaps had sports gambling sites sweating a little by the time March Madness officially began.
BetMGM Arizona told PlayAZ, the Wildcats were the sportsbook’s biggest liability. Arizona was picked to win the championship on 10.9% of BetMGM tickets, more than any other team. The Wildcats also held the highest handle (15.4%) on BetMGM, meaning bettors placed more money on them to win the title than any other team.
Meanwhile, WynnBet Sportsbook was also in line to pay up big if the Wildcats were able to go all the way. Arizona was WynnBet’s fourth-biggest liability nationwide, trailing Gonzaga, Wisconsin and Villanova.
When you look at stakes placed in Arizona, the numbers start to get interesting. Arizona, according to WynnBet, was their second-largest liabilities in Grand Canyon State. The Wildcats were just slightly behind Loyola – Chicago in that division. Arizona is a melting pot, so perhaps some Ramblers alumni were betting on Sister Jean’s great fortune.
Arizona & rsquo’s defeat absolves sportsbook operators of responsibility. And chances are good that the Wildcats won’t be sneaking up on people the following year.
The possible coming of the Arizona Wildcats
There wasn’t much hope that Arizona would appear at The Big Dance & rsquo in 2022 after missing the NCAA Tournament in 2019 and 2021( no tournament held in 2020 ). First-year head coach Tommy Lloyd and his team, but, had different plans.
Fans may therefore have higher expectations for the future as a result of the team’s transformation of what was initially intended to be an off-season rebuilding year. With the NBA Draft and the school exchange website, there did unavoidably get some person turnover. The skill that will be on the Wildcats’ roster the following season, but, should inspire some optimism.
Sophomore guard Bennedict Mathurin will likely be heading for the NBA. Many mock drafts have him projected as a Top-10 pick. Losing the reigning Pac-12 Player of the Year will obviously keep a sizable gap for filling.
The majority of the important Wildcats rotation members may make a comeback the following year, which is good news. Additionally, it is impossible to predict which items may originate from the transfer portal. The 2025 backup betting chances have not yet been released. However, I’d wager that Arizona won’t be far from the best when they do.
